Here's another luggage tag order I recently filled for some clubbies that enjoy knitting and crocheting. Inspired by "Steel Magnolias" - strong, dynamic women required fabrics that would do them justice. I think these turned out wonderfully. As the quote goes, "You know I love you more than my luggage!"

Back from Key West

Spring break was fun at Key West with my family...lots of sailing, fishing, snorkelling, eating, more fishing, more eating! Re-entry is always hard. I must say, I do miss being behind my sewing machine. I have lots of work to do. The theme this week is luggage tags - lots of them. If you are having a destination wedding, these make GREAT wedding favors! Customizable in your wedding color scheme, too. How was your week?

I am very excited to announce that my rag quilt half apron actually made it on an etsy front page Friday evening! I worked hard on these, and it really paid off. whew. my apron!

It is a good day! My apron was selected for voting in the etsy category of quilt-inspired items, along with 49 others - it came in 10th place! I am still in shock. Just the voting alone sold 5 aprons, yay! I have been feverishly making more ever since. This will hopefully give the much needed exposure to my shop. Let me know if you would like to see other pattens or colors. I am currently working on a few with some 1930's reproduction prints - so cute and so springtime. Pictures very soon!

I have many people to thank, and they really deserve some individual attention. :)

I found some time to make these fun luggage tags. They are addictive, I must say - a quick sewing fix. Instant gratification. Must be why I make accessories and gifty type things - and my big projects/quilts remain unfinished. I am starting to consider how I can cut up my quilt tops to make more small accessories...:)

I seem to be drawn back to my vast vintage feedsack collection these days. Maybe it was all the hustle and bustle of the holidays. Maybe it was the frustration of sickness going on throughout the house. Could be...but all I know is that just looking at these vintage pieces of history makes me feel happy. I love how the weave feels...and the intermittent stains...and even the smell. It has been a long time since I even considered creating something out of them. I love these aprons! They make me want to bake...with pumps!

My blog has been lonely this month, sorry! I'll have to fix that right now. Craft shows are done for me this year, so things are calming down a bit. Halloween is just around the corner. If you are anything like me, the costume must be homemade. I can't see buying those costumes at the large superstores for $20, and think, "Boy, I could just make that so easily." My boys are into Star Wars these days...not too hard for the costume-making mom. (except if they want to be General Grievous...) My middle son desires to be Darth Maul - yes, with that red red face - ick. just thinking about all that red face paint and trying to get it off. What ever happened to the good ol' fashioned Charlie Brown ghost?

Vanilla vodka

Bailey's Irish Cream

Pumpkin Liqueor

Shake it up with ice in a martini shaker, pour and drink up. And don't forget to sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg on top. Oh, the sensory overload before you even take a sip...
